School Site Council

Federal Terrace Elementary School, as a California K-12 public school which receives categorical funds, must form a School Site Council (SSC)

The responsibilities of the SSC include:

  1. The SSC must develop the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA)

  2. In addition, the SSC must:

    1. Approve the SPSA

    2. Recommend the SPSA to the local governing board for approval

    3. Monitor its implementation

    4. Evaluate the effectiveness of the planned activities at least annually.

English Learner Advisory Committee

Federal Terrace Elementary School, as a California a K-12 public school with 21 or more English learners must form an English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC).

The responsibilities of the ELAC include:

  1. Advising the principal and staff on programs and services for English Learners and the School Site Council on the development of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA)

  2. Assisting in the development of:

    1. The school’s needs assessment

    2. The school’s annual language census

    3. Ways to make parents aware of the importance of regular school attendance.
